IETT Bus Crashes Into House’s Garden After Sliding Down Street
Residents of Soğuksu Mahallesi experienced a scary incident on Cengizhan Street when an IETT bus with plate number 34 HD 3692 started to slide down after it was parked. The empty bus crashed into the garden of a house, causing panic in the neighborhood. Firefighters and police teams quickly arrived at the scene upon receiving notice from concerned citizens.
While the police ensured safety measures, firefighters began their investigation. A crane was also called to help remove the bus from the garden. According to reports, this is not the first time such an event happened in the same garden.
Erdal Kavrazlı, son of the landlord, spoke about the incident and said, “He slides from above and comes here by hitting cars. This is not the first accident, there have been accidents before. We also consulted our headman, a barrier or something should be built, there is no safety of life. The bus was empty, left it in a park and went home. God forbid. It could have been worse.” Meanwhile, Mehmet Kavrazlı, the owner of the affected house, stated that he heard a loud bang before seeing the bus.
An eyewitness, Salim Uzun, heard the noise and saw the incident unfold. He said, “I heard a noise on our street around 9 o’clock, I heard a noise and the sound of trees. Later, when the car was parked, I heard that it came back and crashed into the vehicles, and the empty bus fell from the top to the bottom.”
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident and similar cases. Residents are concerned about the lack of safety measures in the area and have called for action to prevent such accidents from happening again.
