Illegal Excavation Operation Leads to Arrests
In a recent development, the Governorship has announced that an operation was conducted by the Provincial Gendarmerie Command Intelligence Branch Directorate and the District Gendarmerie Command to apprehend individuals involved in illegal excavations.
During the operation, three suspects identified as AG, MS, and R.S were caught in the act of illegal digging. Authorities seized several tools and equipment including a generator, a hilti, a sledgehammer, 2 pickaxes, shovels, and various excavation materials.
Illegal excavations have been a cause for concern as they often lead to the destruction of historical artifacts, damage to important archaeological sites, and the illegal trade of antiquities.
