Imamoglu undergoes health check as alarming images surface
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality President Ekrem İmamoğlu taken for health check amid corruption investigation
In the midst of two separate investigations targeting the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), images have emerged showing IMM President Ekrem İmamoğlu being detained and taken for health control.
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office has launched a major corruption investigation against the IMM, with the CHP party counting images and ‘city reconciliation’ investigations as part of the probe. In connection with these investigations, especially 106 individuals, including İmamoğlu, have been arrested. The Anti-Terrorism Branch and Anti-Financial Crimes Teams carried out a series of operations at numerous addresses yesterday morning.
During the operation, İmamoğlu was taken into custody and then taken to the hospital for a health check. Moments from the health control at the hospital were captured, with İmamoğlu being viewed by citizens through mobile phone footage.
The investigations are ongoing as authorities continue to probe alleged corruption within the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. The case has garnered significant attention, with many eagerly awaiting the outcome of the investigations.
