An investigation has been initiated by the Marmaris Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office concerning a public tender for the rental of vehicles and machinery for urban cleaning services. This inquiry follows a complaint lodged on March 12, 2025, detailing concerns related to the procurement process.
The Provincial Police Department’s Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch has undertaken the task of scrutinizing the tender documents provided by Marmaris Municipality. The investigation is currently at the expert examination stage, and municipal officials have commented on the press’s reflections regarding the ongoing inquiry.
In a statement, the Marmaris Municipality clarified the tender process involving the Directorate of Cleaning Affairs, which is at the center of the allegations. They asserted that the tender was conducted under the "Open Tender" procedure in compliance with applicable laws. According to the municipality, all stages of the tender process were executed in line with the legislation. Additionally, companies that failed to submit a bid bond letter were rightly disqualified from participation.
This investigation adds to the local government’s ongoing efforts to ensure transparency and accountability in public procurement processes.
