Commemoration Ceremony Honors Bahar-Ulaş Hüsam Couple
A touching ceremony was held in the village of Yeşilırmak to commemorate the lives of Bahar-Ulaş Hüsam, a couple who tragically lost their lives in the earthquake that shook Turkey on February 6, 2023.
Organized by the Soli Innerwheel Club and held in the village square, the event saw various speakers paying tribute to the memory of the beloved couple. Soli Innerwheel Term President Gülay Münür Özpolat announced plans to build a water fountain and create a flower garden in the village to honor the Bahar-Ulaş Hüsam couple, expressing gratitude to all those who contributed to the project.
Sibel Tatar, Founding President of Innerwheel and wife of President Ersin Tatar, emphasized the significance of the project, stating that the pain of losing the couple will never fade and underscoring the importance of caring for the children left behind.
Zorlu Töre, President of the Assembly of the Republic, reflected on the lasting impact of the February 6 earthquake, both in the country and Turkey. Töre highlighted the profound grief experienced by those who lost loved ones, emphasizing the importance of preserving the memories of those who tragically lost their lives.
The ceremony concluded with the unveiling of the water fountain and the planting of love flowers in the garden dedicated to the memory of the Hüsam couple, symbolizing the enduring love and remembrance of their legacy.
