Increase in IBB Marriage Support to 30,000 TL: Application Process and Conditions

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Increases Financial Support for Newly Married Couples

The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Social Services Department has recently announced an increase in the financial support provided to newly married couples. This decision was made in light of factors such as inflation and the growing poverty rates stemming from the economic crisis. The “Marriage Support” package has been raised from 15 thousand TL to 30 thousand TL.

Couples who meet the eligibility criteria can apply for this support through the Alo 153 Solution Center and the Istanbul Seni mobile application. The support is granted as a one-time, gratuitous payment, and is based on the income and needs of the applicants.

To apply for the “Marriage Support”, couples must meet certain requirements. These include being Turkish citizens, residing in Istanbul, both individuals being over 18 years of age, not being previously married, not applying for more than one marriage benefit, and having a marriage date that is within 90 days of the application date.

Applications for the support can be made through the Alo 153 Solution Center, Istanbul Seni Application, or the Social and Economic Support Online Application portal.

The support process involves evaluating the income status of the applicants, with cash support being provided to the female applicant. It is only necessary for one of the spouse candidates to reside in Istanbul at the time of application. The social support needs of the applicants are verified through document checks, and the cash support is deposited into the woman’s bank account after the marriage is officially registered.

After the marriage ceremony, both individuals are required to reside in Istanbul to continue receiving the support. The increase in financial aid provided by the IMM aims to alleviate the financial burden on newly married couples during these challenging times.
