Increase in Support Payments for Needy Individuals
Minister Göktaş Increases Social Service Payments
Minister Göktaş has announced a significant increase in social service payments following a new regulation in the civil servant salary coefficient for January. The changes in payments aim to support low-income individuals and families in line with their needs through various social service models.
One of the notable increases is in the pension for the elderly, which has now been raised from 4,181 lira to 4,664 lira. Additionally, the monthly pension for citizens with a disability rate between 40-69 percent has increased from 3,338 lira to 3,723 lira. Those with a disability rate of 70 percent or more now receive 5,584 lira, up from 5,070 lira.
Furthermore, the disabled relative’s pension for citizens with disabled relatives under the age of 18 has been increased to 3,723 lira, and patients with severe silicosis now receive 10,245 lira per month.
Home care allowance has also seen an increase, with fully dependent citizens and their families receiving 10,125 lira for the January-July period of 2025. Minister Göktaş highlighted that around 542 thousand disabled citizens benefit from home care aid each month.
The government is committed to ensuring that no one is left behind within the Turkey Century vision. In 2024 alone, a total of 54.7 billion lira was provided in home care assistance. Furthermore, economic support amounts for families in need for their children have been adjusted, with an increase in the average amount provided per child in the SED service to 7,094 lira.
Minister Göktaş emphasized the importance of implementing holistic and fair social service models to protect, strengthen, and develop individual, family, and social values. The government aims to reach all segments of society with a supply-oriented and accessible service network, providing equal and fair service without discrimination.
Starting from February, the monthly payments of social assistance programs will be increased, and beneficiaries can expect to see these deposits in their accounts soon.
