Increase in Transportation Support Limit to 1900 Lira One Way

Minister of Family and Social Services Göktaş has announced that the Transportation Support program, which was introduced in 2022 to assist students from social assistance beneficiary households with their transportation expenses, will continue in the upcoming 2024-2025 academic year.

The program aims to support primary, secondary, and higher education students who study in a different province from their families by covering their intercity transportation costs. Minister Göktaş mentioned that the program provides round-trip support four times a year to students in social assistance beneficiary households.

“More than 100 thousand students have benefited from the program so far,” Minister Göktaş stated. The support amount has been updated for 2025, with the upper limit raised from 1250 lira to 1900 lira for one way. Approximately 100 million lira has been allocated to the Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundations to support students and their families. Minister Göktaş emphasized the importance of developing holistic and fair social service models to reach every member of society.

Applications for the Transportation Support program should be submitted by the student or their family to the Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundation in their region. Minister Göktaş reassured that the government will continue to provide support to social assistance beneficiary households whenever needed.

Overall, the Transportation Support program aims to alleviate the financial burden on students from disadvantaged backgrounds and ensure equal access to education for all.
