Initiating a Negotiation Process for Success – BRTK

The Chairman of the Republican Turkish Party, Tufan Erhürman, recently shared his insights on his New York contacts in a virtual meeting with journalists. He emphasized the productivity of these discussions and expressed the intention to continue engaging in international relations in the future.
Erhürman highlighted the party’s plans to not only focus on New York but also visit the European Union headquarters and various European capitals. Additionally, he mentioned the importance of strengthening ties with Turkey.
During his discussions in New York, Erhürman aimed to raise awareness about the Cyprus problem and advocate for a bi-communal, bi-regional federation based on political equality. He emphasized the necessity of acknowledging political equality as a crucial factor for future negotiations on this issue.
Erhürman stated that there is no room for further discussions on the Cyprus problem and called for a result-oriented negotiation process. He urged all parties to recognize the progress made so far and avoid starting from scratch, as it would be counterproductive.
Furthermore, Erhürman suggested that the international community should see through any attempts to mask true intentions, particularly referencing Hristodulidis’ stance on the solution to the Cyprus problem.
In conclusion, Tufan Erhürman’s reflections on the New York contacts highlight the commitment of the Republican Turkish Party to advocating for a fair and sustainable resolution to the longstanding Cyprus issue.
