Innovative Ceremony Response by Zonguldak Governor Osman Hacıbektaşoğlu
The 110th anniversary of the Çanakkale Victory was commemorated in Zonguldak with both official and alternative ceremonies. The official ceremony took place at 10.00 in front of the Governor’s Office building, where attendees gathered to pay tribute to the fallen soldiers.
However, at 14.00, members of the CHP organized an alternative ceremony at the Martyrs Monument in front of the Governor’s Office. The participants of this alternative ceremony faced rain but continued the event in front of the entrance of the building to seek shelter.
During the ceremonies, Zonguldak Governor Osman Hacıbektaşoğlu went out to the balcony of the building and expressed his disapproval of the alternative ceremony. He questioned the participants, asking if they understood the significance of their actions.
Following his reaction, Governor Hacıbektaşoğlu retreated back into the building. The CHP Zonguldak Provincial Chairman, Devrim Dural, and the group present at the alternative ceremony also reacted to the Governor’s comments. The crowd dispersed after the completion of the ceremonies.
