Inspection of Butchers and Delicatessens in Gönyeli by BRTK
Public Health Unit teams of the Veterinary Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources recently conducted inspections at butchers and delicatessens in the Gönyeli region to ensure that citizens can consume meat and meat products in a healthy environment.
During the inspections, carried out by the Veterinary Department Directorate Public Health Unit teams, a disturbing discovery was made at a workplace named “AK” belonging to AE in the Gönyeli region. Carcass meat sealed with a fake seal was found, raising concerns about the quality and safety of the products being sold.
Further investigation led to the discovery of an unsealed carcass of a cattle in the deep freezer at AE’s house, with its meat cut into pieces. This blatant violation of regulations regarding meat handling and storage raised red flags for the authorities.
Moreover, the hygienic conditions of the business in question were deemed unsatisfactory, leading to the suspension of its activities for a period of 10 days. This action serves as a warning to other establishments in the region to uphold proper hygiene and safety standards when handling and selling meat products.
The Public Health Unit teams are committed to ensuring the well-being of consumers and will continue to carry out inspections to prevent any potential health risks associated with the consumption of meat and meat products. Citizens are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious practices to the relevant authorities for prompt action.
