International Workshop on Customs Innovation and Risk Management in Central Asia hosted by KazAID

Customs professionals from Central Asia and the Caucasus are currently participating in an international workshop in Astana, Kazakhstan to enhance their skills in risk management and trade monitoring. The event, which is taking place from Feb. 3-7, brings together young customs officials from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

Organized by the Kazakhstan Agency of International Development (KazAID), the workshop is part of the Master Trainer Program (MTP) on risk management. Participants have the opportunity to learn from experts in the field, including specialists from the World Customs Organization (WCO). One of the main highlights of the event is the Trainer of Trainers workshop, developed in partnership with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), to equip participants with advanced customs risk management techniques.

In addition to gaining valuable knowledge and skills, participants at the workshop are able to network with peers, form partnerships, and contribute to global efforts to enhance customs processes worldwide. The event aims to promote collaboration and cooperation among customs professionals in the region, ultimately leading to more efficient and effective trade practices.
