Turkish Authorities Launch Investigation into Social Media Users for Disinformation Campaign
An investigation has been launched by Turkish authorities against social media users who are allegedly creating disinformation content by acting together over social media networks. The Presidency of Communications filed a criminal complaint, which states that it was determined that some social media accounts systematically made publications with the content of disinformation and manipulation in order to create fear and panic in society. The accounts reached 40 million social media users by changing their usernames and content, thus spreading disinformation content rapidly.
