Israeli UAV airstrike kills Hamas commander in Tulkarim

According to reports from the Palestinian news agency WAFA, the Israeli army carried out an airstrike using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) on a car traveling on the road connecting the towns of Attil and Zeita, north of Tulkarim. The vehicle was hit by two rockets, causing it to catch fire and its occupants to burn to death.

Sabit Sabit State Hospital in Tulkarim confirmed that five charred bodies were brought to the hospital following the attack, with one of them identified as 25-year-old Heysem Nureddin Bıleydi from the Tulkarim Refugee Camp. Bıleydi was known to be one of the commanders of Hamas’ military wing, the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, in Tulkarim.

In response to the strike, national action groups in Tulkarim announced a general strike and period of mourning. The Israeli army, in their initial statement, claimed that there were armed resistance fighters present in the targeted vehicle.

Additionally, Israeli forces conducted a raid on the Iseviyya Neighborhood in East Jerusalem, where they fired live bullets, tear gas, and sound bombs at Palestinians and their homes. The clashes that followed resulted in three Palestinians sustaining injuries.

Furthermore, a 16-year-old child was detained during a military raid on the village of Husan, located west of Bethlehem. In a separate raid in Nablus, four Palestinians were also detained by Israeli forces.

The recent escalation of violence in the region has raised concerns about further destabilization and the need for a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine.
