Minister Kurum: “No Title Deed Problems in the Islands”
Minister Murat Kurum, who is also Istanbul 1st Region Deputy Candidate, visited Büyükada and shared good news with the citizens. The Minister stated that a total of 533,000 independent departments applied in Istanbul’s historical transformation, and they promised to eradicate risky structures in the city within five years. Minister Kurum also emphasized his dedication to supporting education, healthcare, and recreational facilities in the area.
Moreover, Minister Kurum announced that the government resolved property issues and disputes related to land titles in the 9 islands and 5 neighborhoods in the region, which was a long-awaited solution for many citizens. The government also removed fishing areas in Burgazada and Büyükada to allow citizens to fish easily. Furthermore, the construction of a new primary school with a capacity for one thousand students in Büyükada is underway and is due to be completed by the 2023 academic year.
Regarding cultural preservation, Minister Kurum mentioned that the government has decided to suspend the zoning problem in the islands, and title deed problems will no longer exist. The government also plans to build a Culture and Art Center in the Islands to add value to the area’s cultural treasure.
Minister Kurum emphasized the government’s commitment to protecting the Islands’ greenery, blue waters, unique architecture, and cultural heritage and pledged to work towards the Islands’ future development.
