Israeli Aircraft Allegedly Target Military Points in Hayyan, Syria
Social media accounts close to the Syrian administration have reported that Israeli aircraft targeted some military points in the town of Hayyan in the countryside of Aleppo. Hayyan is said to have a significant presence of Hezbollah members who are fighting alongside the Bashar Assad regime army.
Both Israel and the Syrian administration have yet to release an official statement regarding the alleged attack. This incident comes just days after reports that Israeli forces targeted a building in the Banyas district of Tartus province on May 29, 2024. It was claimed that one child died and ten civilians were injured in the attack.
Israel has been conducting intermittent attacks on Iranian-backed groups and Syrian army military points since the civil war began in 2011. These attacks are part of Israel’s ongoing efforts to prevent the buildup of military capabilities by its adversaries in the region.
