Israel evacuates residents from 2 neighborhoods in Beirut

Israeli Army Urges Residents in Beirut Neighborhoods to Evacuate Immediately

The Israeli Army spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, recently issued a statement on social media urging residents of al-Laylaki and al-Hadas neighborhoods in the south of Beirut to evacuate their homes immediately.

Adraee emphasized the need for residents to move at least 500 meters away from the area, citing their proximity to Hezbollah’s interests as a reason for the urgency of the evacuation.

Reports indicate that two individuals have tragically lost their lives, and 76 others have been injured as a result of Israel’s recent attacks on Beirut, the capital of Lebanon. Prime Minister Mikati condemned these attacks, stating that they demonstrate Israel’s disregard for international calls for a ceasefire.

The Israeli Army has been engaged in controlled clashes with Hezbollah since October 8, with a significant escalation in airstrikes on Lebanon’s southern cities, as well as the Bekaa and Baalbek regions since September 23. Lebanese authorities report that 775 individuals have lost their lives in these attacks, with nearly 150,000 people displaced within the country.

In response to the Israeli airstrikes, Hezbollah has launched missile attacks targeting Israeli army bases, resulting in minimal damage. The ongoing violence has prompted a wave of migration from the southern regions of Lebanon to Beirut and the north, with some individuals also seeking refuge in Syria.

The situation remains volatile as tensions escalate between Israel and Hezbollah, underscoring the urgent need for international intervention to achieve a lasting peace in the region.
