Israel expands attacks on Gaza, announces genocide declaration
Israeli Minister Katz has recently stated that the attacks on Gaza this morning are aimed at expanding the territory and ultimately occupying more land. He believes that increasing attacks in the Gaza Strip will put pressure on Hamas and the people of Gaza, leading to these areas becoming part of Israel’s “security zone.”
In response to the attacks, the Israeli Army has launched a land attack on Welfare, a city in the southern Gaza Strip. This move comes after a period of intense air attacks and the breakdown of a ceasefire agreement. The 36th Division, consisting of armored vehicles and tanks, has been deployed to the Southern Command in preparation for the expansion of occupation.
The Israeli Army’s violent attacks on Gaza have resumed after a brief ceasefire that began on January 19th. According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza, over 1,042 Palestinians, including many elderly, women, and children, have lost their lives, and more than 2,542 people have been injured since the attacks resumed.
Since October 7, 2023, the total number of Palestinians killed in Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip has risen to 50,399, with 114,583 others wounded. The situation remains tense as the Israeli Army continues its aggressive actions, leading to further loss of life and destruction in the region.
