Israel in Crisis: Jerusalem Rocked by Scandalous Stone Attacks
Israel and Iran Clash in Syria, Leading to Escalation of Tensions
After a series of attacks by Israel on targets in Syria, tensions between Iran and Israel have reached a boiling point. The latest confrontation took place on April 1, when Israeli jets targeted a five-story building in the Iranian Embassy complex in Damascus. The attack resulted in the death of Mohammad Reza Zahedi, a key commander of the Quds Force, along with several other officers. In response, Iran launched a retaliatory attack on Israel, firing more than 300 missiles and kamikaze drones from its territory.
The back-and-forth attacks between the two countries have escalated in recent weeks. Israeli warplanes have targeted pro-Iranian militias and Hezbollah positions multiple times in Syria since the civil war began in 2011. In one of the recent attacks, Israeli jets struck near the international airport in Aleppo, resulting in the deaths of dozens of soldiers and civilians.
In another attack, an Israeli airstrike targeted a factory in the town of Hayyan, northwest of Aleppo, where pro-Iranian militia forces and Hezbollah members were present. The Damascus regime reported at least 17 people killed and 15 injured in the attack.
Iran has vowed to retaliate against Israel for the death of Iranian military advisor Said Evyar, who was killed in one of the Israeli attacks. The commander of the Revolutionary Guard, Hussein Salami, has issued threats of further retaliation against Israel, warning that they should expect a response.
Said Evyar’s death marks the first time a Revolutionary Guard officer has been killed since the April 1 embassy attack. According to the New York Times, Evyar had been serving in Syria since 2012.
As tensions continue to rise between Israel and Iran, the situation in Syria remains volatile. Both countries are on high alert, with the potential for further escalations in the conflict looming on the horizon.
