Israel Plans to Demolish 66 Houses in the Fine Refugee Camp

Israeli forces are planning to demolish 66 houses in the Refugee Camp in Cenin within the next 24 hours, according to Cenin Municipality Public Relations Officer Beşir Metahin. Metahin stated that Israeli soldiers are preventing Palestinians from accessing their homes to retrieve their belongings in the Refugee Camp.
The Israeli army has shared a map indicating the houses to be demolished, marked in red, as part of their plan to expand streets and establish service facilities in the area where Palestinians currently reside. Metahin expressed concern that these actions indicate Israel’s intention to maintain a long-term presence in the region.
Since the beginning of Israel’s attacks, approximately 600 houses in the camp have become uninhabitable, leading to a decrease in the population of the Refugee Camp below 5,000. The attacks in Cenin, as well as in Tulkerim and Tubas, have resulted in the destruction of nearly 100 buildings.
Since the ceasefire in Gaza came into effect on January 19, the Israeli Army has intensified its occupation in Cenin and other areas in the West Bank. Since October 7, 2023, Israeli forces have seized Palestinian territory, resulting in the deaths of 168 children, 937 Palestinians, and the injury of approximately 7,000 people in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.
The ongoing conflict and occupation in the region highlight the need for peaceful resolutions and international intervention to protect the rights and safety of Palestinians in their homes and communities.
