Israel Takes Credit for Assault on Yemen’s Hudaydah Port
Israeli warplanes launched a series of airstrikes on what they described as “military targets” belonging to the Houthi rebels in the port city of Hodeidah, Yemen. The Israeli army spokesman stated that these attacks were in retaliation for hundreds of previous attacks carried out by the Houthis against Israel.
This incident marks the first direct attack by Israel on Yemen, causing widespread destruction in the targeted areas. The Houthi-affiliated al-Masira television channel confirmed the bombing and reported that fuel depots in the Port of Hodeidah were hit by the airstrikes. Videos circulating on social media showed powerful explosions and a mushroom cloud rising from the site of the attack.
In a separate incident, a powerful explosion occurred near the US Embassy in central Tel Aviv as a result of a drone strike. One person was killed and four others were injured by shrapnel and the force of the explosion. The Houthis in Yemen claimed responsibility for this attack, stating that they used a new UAV named “Jaffa” that can evade radar detection and air defense systems.
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant vowed to provide a strong response to the drone attack on Tel Aviv. The Houthis have warned that they will continue to target central Israel, considering Tel Aviv as an “unsafe area” for them. The situation remains tense as both sides escalate their actions in the ongoing conflict.
