Israeli Army Demolishes Palestinian House in West Bank for Lack of Permit
Israeli Forces Demolish Palestinian Home in Hebron
Israeli forces have once again carried out a demolition of a Palestinian home in the town of Izna, located in the west of Hebron. According to eyewitnesses, the residential house, covering an area of 140 square meters, was destroyed on the basis of being “built without a permit”.
Despite efforts by the homeowner to provide official documents to the relevant authorities, including Israeli courts, no response was received, leading to the unjustified demolition without a judicial order. This is not an isolated incident, as Israel has a history of demolishing Palestinian houses and structures in East Jerusalem and the West Bank, citing lack of proper licensing.
Under the division set forth in the “Second Oslo Accord” signed in 1995, the occupied West Bank was classified into different zones – A, B, and C. “Area A” and “Area B” have varying levels of administrative and security control handed over to Palestine, while “Area C” remains under full Israeli control.
The latest demolition in Izna serves as a reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by Palestinians living under occupation, with their homes and properties at constant risk of being destroyed without just cause. The international community must address these violations of human rights and work towards a just and lasting solution for the people of Palestine.
