Israeli Soldiers Raid Palestinian Town, Detain Residents Including Elderly
Eyewitnesses have reported that Israeli soldiers raided the town of Sincel in the West Bank city of Ramallah, entering homes and detaining at least 10 people, including elderly individuals. Images circulating on social media show Israeli soldiers blindfolding and detaining Palestinians in the town.
Among those detained was Yasmin Teysir Şaban, a former detainee and mother of four children, who was taken during a raid on the Al-Jelme town of Jenin city. The Palestinian official news agency WAFA confirmed the reports of the arrests.
According to the Palestinian Prisoners Association and the Prisoners and Released Delegation affiliated with the Palestine Liberation Organization, the number of Palestinians detained in the occupied West Bank has risen to 8,800 since October 7, 2023, when the Israeli army launched an attack on the Gaza Strip. This figure includes individuals who were detained and later released.
Since October 7, 505 Palestinians have lost their lives in attacks by Israeli soldiers and illegal Jewish settlers in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem. The violence has escalated since the Israeli army’s attack on the Gaza Strip, with increased detentions, raids, and attacks against Palestinians in the occupied territories.
The international community has called for an end to the violence and for both sides to engage in peaceful dialogue to resolve the ongoing conflict.
