Israeli Military Assaults Palestinian Residential Area
Israeli Soldiers Raid Jericho in West Bank, Killing One and Injuring Two
According to reports from the official Palestinian news agency WAFA, Israeli soldiers carried out raids in the city of Jericho in the West Bank as well as in nearby areas such as Aqaba Jabir, Ayn es-Sultan, and Duyuk al-Favka.
During the raids, 44-year-old Shadi Isa Celayta, a father of three from Jericho, was killed by gunfire from Israeli forces. Additionally, two other individuals were injured, with one of them sustaining serious chest injuries.
This tragic incident adds to the rising death toll in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem. Since October 7, 2023, a total of 486 Palestinians have lost their lives in attacks by Israeli soldiers and illegal Jewish settlers.
The situation has only escalated since the Israeli army’s attack on the Gaza Strip in October 2023. There has been a noticeable increase in detentions, raids, and violent attacks against Palestinians in the occupied territories, leading to further tensions and loss of life.
The ongoing conflict and violence in the region continue to claim innocent lives and exacerbate the already fragile situation. The international community must step in to help find a peaceful resolution and put an end to the cycle of violence that plagues the Palestinian people.
