Israeli Likud Party Deputy Criticizes Country’s Attacks in Gaza
Amit Halevi, Deputy of the Likud Party led by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, recently spoke out about Israel’s attacks in Gaza. In a statement to the Israeli Parliament television, he expressed disappointment in the outcomes of the attacks, calling them “very bad and very weak.”
Halevi went on to say that the Israeli army had not achieved any significant strategic success in Gaza. He placed blame on both the army and the government for the failure of the attacks, stressing that a similar approach would not be effective against Hezbollah. He suggested that any plans for an all-out attack on Lebanon should be postponed to avoid another unsuccessful mission.
During his interview on Israel’s Channel 14 television on May 17, Halevi pointed out that Israel had been unable to eliminate any brigade of the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas in Gaza. He also mentioned that all brigades of Hamas and Islamic Jihad remain active in the region.
Halevi’s critical remarks shed light on the challenges and shortcomings of Israel’s military operations in Gaza, prompting a reevaluation of their tactics and strategies moving forward.
