Israeli Prisoner Released After Receiving Threats from Netanyahu Supporters

Israel’s Official TV Channel Interviews Former Captive Liri Albag
Liri Albag, who was released as part of a captive exchange agreement between Hamas and Israel two months ago, recently sat down for an interview with Israel’s official television channel, Kan. During the interview, Albag pointed fingers at the Netanyahu administration for Hamas’s “Aksa Flood” attack on October 7, 2023, stating, “You are responsible for everything, and you need to correct what you do.”
Following the interview, Albag expressed concerns over the reactions from supporters of Netanyahu’s Likud party. He revealed, “I read the comments, the threats, insults, and fear.” Despite facing backlash, Albag made it clear that he is more concerned about the state of affairs in Israel. He stated, “I’m afraid of what we have become. I did not expect such reactions from people in Israel. What is even more difficult? Do you know what is more difficult than our enemies.”
Albag called out Netanyahu for evading responsibility for the events of October 7 and emphasized the need for a different approach. He stated, “We cannot win in this way. There are people who need to be saved.” Albag’s bold statements shed light on the political tensions within Israel and the challenges faced by those involved in captive exchanges.
