Israel’s downfall into the fire pit
Numan Kurtulmuş, the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, emphasized the importance of listening to the opinions of civil society during a speech at the “Civil Society Meeting” program at Düzce Municipality Erol Güngör Cultural Center. He highlighted the significance of civil society’s role in Turkey and how expressing ideas openly and competition between non-governmental organizations can contribute to the country’s development.
Kurtulmuş also addressed the need for unity and solidarity in the face of challenges, emphasizing the importance of cooperation among different social groups and institutions. He stressed the importance of Turkey having a strong voice and effective power in various fields to navigate the current global and regional developments.
The Speaker highlighted Turkey’s stance against Israel’s attacks on Gaza and the efforts made by the state institutions to fight against these injustices. He mentioned Turkey’s actions, including appeals to the International Court of Justice and parliamentary decisions against Israel, in response to the atrocities committed.
Kurtulmuş expressed gratitude towards non-governmental organizations for their sensitivity towards these issues and highlighted the solidarity shown by Turkish citizens in protesting against the injustices. He reassured the audience that those responsible for crimes against humanity would be held accountable in international courts.
Regarding the situation in the region, Kurtulmuş emphasized the support for the Palestinian people in Turkey and the common stance of the government and state on this issue. He warned against external influences, particularly from the Zionist lobby, and reaffirmed Turkey’s commitment to supporting Palestine and the people of the region.
