Israel’s ongoing displacement of Palestinians in Gaza
Israel continues to use forced migration as a weapon against Palestinians in Gaza, with the latest attacks on the Megazi area causing more displacement. The Israeli Army Spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, has called for the evacuation of certain areas in Gaza, including the supposedly “humanitarian zone” of Al-Mawasi, despite previous attacks on the area.
The Israeli army’s forced displacement order covers a large portion of Gaza, forcing many Palestinians to leave their homes to save their lives. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has stated that the practice of forcibly displacing the population in Gaza is ongoing, with residents having no safe place to go.
Since October 7, Israel has been issuing evacuation orders, leading to 9 out of every 10 people in Gaza being forced to migrate due to the attacks. Palestinians in Gaza are facing food shortages, attacks, and continuous forced migration, with the majority being forced to flee once a month according to the UN.
The systematic use of forced migration as a weapon by Israel in Gaza is causing immense suffering and displacement for the Palestinian population. The international community must intervene to protect the rights and safety of those affected by these actions.
