Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Assembly Elects Deputy Chairman
Today, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Assembly gathered to elect the Deputy Chairman, following the dismissal of the Ministry of Interior’s investigation into corruption allegations. The meeting started at 13.00, with CHP candidate Nuri Aslan and AK Party candidate Zeynel Abidin School vying for the position.
In the first round of voting, Nuri Aslan received 173 votes, while Zeynel Abidin School received 123 votes. Five votes were considered invalid. However, as two-thirds of the total number of members could not be achieved in the first round, the election will proceed to a second round.
The decision on who will be elected as the Deputy Chairman of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Assembly is still pending, as the members continue to deliberate. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
