Istanbul Police Department Prepares for New Academic Year with Safety Measures
Istanbul is gearing up for the new academic year with a focus on safety and security. The Police Department has announced the measures that will be taken to ensure a smooth start to the school year.
A total of 1094 safe education coordination officers will be in contact with the administrations of 2,497 schools in the province. These officers will visit the schools to ensure that safety measures are in place. Additionally, 564 official and civilian teams will be stationed at the entrance and exit hours of a total of 1290 schools throughout the entire education and training period.
Traffic measures will also be implemented, with 338 teams carrying out checks on service vehicles at 532 points. Mobile School Teams (MOT) in 39 districts of the city will continue their duties in the new academic year.
The teams aim to establish an effective control mechanism in schools and their surroundings to ensure the safety and peace of school environments through shock applications. Comprehensive practices will be carried out in school surroundings, public places, school service vehicles, parks, and gardens with the participation of relevant teams, including Child-Security-Traffic-Prevention-Narcotics Branch and District Police Department personnel and MOTs.
The goal of these applications is to prevent possible incidents and negativities in the school environment. With these measures in place, Istanbul is ready to welcome students back to school for a successful academic year.
