Istanbul to Antalya travel time reduced to 4 hours and 45 minutes: Minister Karaismailoğlu
The government of Turkey is working tirelessly to expand the country’s transportation network and improve infrastructure. One of the most significant projects in progress is the construction of several metro lines in Istanbul, which are set to be completed by the end of this year.
One of the completed metro lines is the Kağıthane – Istanbul Airport line, while the Kağıthane – Gayrettepe connection and the Istanbul Airport – Halkalı line will be completed by the end of the year. These new lines will be a part of an extensive 69-kilometer urban rail system, which will connect Marmaray Halkalı to Başakşehir, Arnavutköy, Istanbul Airport, Kağıthane, and Gayrettepe.
The metro lines will provide an efficient mode of transportation for Istanbulites, with the added benefit of reducing traffic congestion and air pollution caused by cars. Furthermore, the project will create employment opportunities and boost the economy.
The Kanal Istanbul project is also underway, designed to reduce Bosphorus ship traffic and lessen environmental damage. The project includes building a logistics port with a loading capacity of 400 million on the Black Sea coast. The project will create jobs and stimulate economic growth, as well as reducing ship traffic in the Bosphorus.
Additionally, there are plans to implement a super high-speed train project on the Ankara – Istanbul line, which will decrease the travel time to a mere 80 minutes. The project will make the current high-speed train line even more efficient. The Ankara – Trabzon high-speed train project is also in progress, with the distance between Trabzon and Ankara reducing to 4.5 hours upon completion.
Lastly, the fast train project between Istanbul and Antalya will be another step towards a more efficient transportation network. The distance between Istanbul and Antalya will be reduced to 4 hours and 45 minutes through the construction of a new line from Kütahya, Afyonkarahisar, Isparta, and Burdur to Antalya.
The projects set to be completed this year and beyond will provide a more environmentally friendly and accessible transportation network for Turkish citizens. These developments will also stimulate economic growth and provide employment opportunities, highlighting the importance of infrastructure investment as a means of creating a sustainable future for the country.
