Istanbul to Get Living Centers on Both Sides: Murat Kurum
Murat Kurum, the Mayor Candidate for Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, paid a visit to the nursing home affiliated with Bahçelievler Social Services Directorate. During his visit, Kurum and his team offered carnations to the nursing home residents as a gesture of goodwill. Moreover, they asked the residents of the nursing home to share their memories and hopes while discussing the upcoming projects that the municipal government has prepared.
Kurum expressed that they are planning to establish living centers on both sides of Istanbul in order to provide a comfortable living space for the elderly. He mentioned that the center will offer various activities such as sports, entertainment, reading, music, and trainings for the residents to enjoy. Kurum reassured the residents by promising that the Metropolitan Municipality will provide comprehensive support, both material and moral. He further emphasized that they are committed to working tirelessly and empathetically to address the needs of the elderly population.
During the visit, the nursing home residents showcased their artistic talents by singing pieces from Turkish classical music, reading poetry, and displaying paintings. Sculptor and painter Özcan Çelen also gifted a portrait he drew to Kurum, which was received with gratitude.
In addition to discussing future plans, the visit served as an opportunity for Kurum to interact with the residents and learn from their experiences. He expressed deep respect for the elderly and vowed to continue serving the community by putting the needs of Istanbul’s residents at the forefront.
Kurum’s visit was accompanied by AK Party Deputy Şengül Karslı, AK Party Istanbul Provincial Youth Branch President Muhammed Cem Çekerek, Bahçelievler Mayor Dr. Hakan Bahadır, AK Party Provincial Deputy Chairman Mehmet Fatih Serdar, AK Party Bahçelievler District Chairman Fatih Tuna, and AK Party Bahçelievler District Deputy Chairman Adem Yüce.
