İyi Parti Faces Wave of Resignations and Dismissals
The İyi Party, a political party in Turkey, has been facing a period of turbulence and internal conflict. Numerous resignations and dismissals have occurred within the party, causing a decrease in its membership and a strained management crisis.
The conflicts within the party were further exacerbated by the decision not to form an alliance for local elections, leading to disagreements among party members. Ece Güner, a prominent member of the İyi Party, resigned from all his positions, criticizing the non-alliance local election decision. Additionally, Ahmet Zeki Üçok, the Law and Justice Policies Chairman, was dismissed from his post.
In the İyi Party’s Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Assembly, tensions and management crisis have been on full display. Ibrahim Özkan resigned as Deputy Chairman of the İBB İyi Party Group, but was later re-elected to the same position, going against the party management’s request. This led to disciplinary actions against council members and a request for definitive expulsion.
The party has also seen numerous other resignations and expulsions, including Salim Ensarioğlu, Ümit Dikbayır, Ümit Özdağ, Erdal Sarızeybek, Yavuz Ağıralioğlu, Ahat Andican, Aytun Çıray, Yusuf Halaçoğlu, and several others. The number of members in the İyi Party has decreased to 40, with recurring news of resignations and dismissals in local governments.
As the party continues to grapple with internal conflicts and management issues, it faces the challenge of maintaining its strength and unity to effectively represent its constituents in Turkish politics.
