Citizens Gather at Mosques to Celebrate Eid al-Adha
On the first day of Eid al-Adha, people flocked to mosques across the country to perform the Eid prayer. One such mosque, the Bilal Saygılı Mosque and Complex in the Bornova district, was filled with citizens eager to celebrate the holiday.
During the Eid prayer sermon, the importance of Eid al-Adha and the significance of sacrifice in Islam were explained to the congregation. The sermon emphasized the values of unity, solidarity, and brotherhood, and prayers were offered for an end to persecution in the Islamic world.
Eid al-Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, is one of the holiest celebrations in Islam. It commemorates the willingness of Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God.
