A hotel in the Higashiyama district of Kyoto, Japan, recently made headlines in the national press for rejecting the reservation of an Israeli customer. The incident, which occurred this month, has sparked controversy and led to accusations of discrimination.

The hotel management has refrained from commenting on the issue, although a message attributed to the hotel manager appeared on social media claiming that reservations of individuals with potential ties to the Israeli army were being rejected.
