Jealousy Leads to Tragic Murder-Suicide
A tragic incident occurred in Bursa, where a woman named Tuba Ateşci lost her life after being shot by her ex-husband, Murat Demir, in a fit of jealousy. The heartbreaking incident took place in the garden of a site located in Hacivat District C102 Street in the central Yıldırım district around 20:00.
Tuba Ateşci, a 41-year-old mother of two children, had divorced Murat Demir, 49, a year ago, but the two had recently started living together again. However, their reconciliation took a dark turn when jealousy reared its ugly head. Just two days prior to the tragic event, an argument between the two due to jealousy had led to Murat Demir leaving the house.
On the fateful evening, Demir called Ateşci to meet in the garden of the site. Unfortunately, the meeting escalated into a heated argument, during which Demir reportedly shot Ateşci with a gun before turning the weapon on himself. Both lost their lives in the tragic incident.
Neighbors, who heard gunshots, alerted the police and medical teams, who quickly arrived at the scene. Despite their efforts, both Ateşci and Demir were pronounced dead on the scene. The authorities seized the gun used in the incident and launched an investigation into the tragic events.
The news of the double tragedy devastated Tuba Ateşci’s relatives, who arrived at the scene and were overcome with grief. The bodies of the deceased were taken to the morgue of Bursa Forensic Medicine Institute for further examination.
As the investigation into the incident continues, the community is left mourning the loss of a mother and her ex-husband in a senseless act of violence fueled by jealousy.
