Jibek Joly Tourist Train Explores Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan on a New Journey
The Jibek Joly tourist train, also known as the Silk Road in Kazakh, embarked on its second voyage on Jan. 2, introducing two new cities to its itinerary: Shymkent in Kazakhstan and Samarkand in Uzbekistan.
According to Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ), the Jibek Joly tourist train set off on a route that includes Almaty, Turkistan, Tashkent, Samarkand, Shymkent, and Almaty. The five-day journey is scheduled to conclude on Jan. 7, with over 100 tourists on board, including journalists and bloggers participating in a press tour organized by the Kazakh Tourism national company.
Travelers on this railway tour will have the opportunity to explore ancient cities and retrace the footsteps of the Great Silk Road. The itinerary highlights key landmarks, and the program includes guide services, meals, transportation, and entrance tickets. A unique aspect of this journey is that tourists will spend their nights on a comfortable train equipped with all the amenities needed for a peaceful overnight stay as it continues along its route.
In November of last year, a tourist train successfully completed a five-day journey through Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, showcasing the rich cultural heritage and historical significance of the region. The Jibek Joly tourist train continues to provide a unique and immersive experience for travelers keen on exploring the ancient Silk Road route.
