Istanbul Man Abducted and Robbed in Ankara
A shocking incident has come to light in Ankara, as Yaver D., a resident of Istanbul, was reportedly lured to a villa, beaten, and robbed by a group of individuals he met through a mutual friend. According to the indictment of the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, Yaver D. had traveled to Ankara for a business meeting with individuals he met through his friend Neşet D.
Upon arriving at a restaurant to meet with the group, Yaver D. was taken to a villa under the pretense of being introduced to someone. However, once there, he was brutally beaten and threatened with death. The perpetrators allegedly stole 30 thousand euros from Yaver D. before leaving him at another location.
Following the incident, Yaver D. filed a complaint with the prosecutor’s office, leading to a lawsuit being filed against 11 defendants. The prosecutor’s office has requested severe sentences, including up to 29 years in prison for the main perpetrators and up to 14 years and 6 months for those who aided in the crime.
In his statement included in the indictment, Yaver D. recounted the terrifying threats made against him, as well as the theft of his money. Meanwhile, the defendants have offered their own versions of events, with one claiming he was not personally acquainted with the complainant and another denying involvement in the robbery.
This case serves as a chilling reminder of the dangers individuals may face in business dealings, and the importance of taking precautions when meeting new contacts. The legal process is underway, and it is hoped that justice will be served for Yaver D. and that such acts of violence and theft will not go unpunished.
