Minister of Health Holds Meeting with Medical and Pharmacy Associations to Address Patient Access to Medicine
Minister of Health Dr. Hakan Dinçyürek recently convened a meeting with the board of directors of the Cyprus Medical Association and the Cyprus Pharmacists Association at the Ministry of Health to address the challenges faced by patients in accessing essential medication.
The meeting aimed to foster collaboration among physicians and pharmacists across the island to develop a unified online system that would facilitate the procurement of medication prescribed by doctors.
Following a result-oriented approach, the stakeholders committed to working within their respective boards and working groups to identify and resolve any existing gaps in the system. They also agreed to reconvene for further discussions on Wednesday morning.
Minister Dinçyürek highlighted the government’s and the relevant stakeholders’ determination to swiftly establish a common roadmap that would eliminate any obstacles hindering patients’ access to medication. He also acknowledged the Prime Minister’s commitment to the issue, noting that the ministry had been tasked with finding a prompt solution.
The Minister further emphasized the clear determination and willingness of all parties involved to address the issue and take necessary steps to streamline the process of patient access to essential medication.
It is evident that the government is prioritizing the well-being of its citizens by actively seeking to improve the healthcare system and ensure that patients can readily obtain the medication they need.
