Justice for children of murdered Büyükşen couple.
Justice has finally been served in the case of the murder of retired officer Metin Büyükşen and his wife Necla Büyükşen, who were shot dead at their home in Karatay district, Ismail Mahallesi back in September 2018. The 5th High Criminal Court has sentenced Ertuğrul Çelik, who allegedly committed the murder, and Esra Taş and Abdullah Başdemir, who were alleged accomplices, to two life sentences and four years in prison for the crimes. Çelik was also sentenced to nine months in prison for injuring Büşra Büyükşen during the attack. Zekeriya Okşen, who was pending defendant, was acquitted due to a lack of evidence. The children of the Büyükşen couple made a statement expressing that justice had been done and that they could now mourn their loss.
