
Karaelmas Express wraps up promotional tour

The Karaelmas Express Western Black Sea Touristic Train Tour has completed its promotional tour, giving passengers a unique experience to explore the natural, historical, and cultural heritage of the Western Black Sea region. The tour started in Ankara and included stops in Çankırı, Karabük, and Zonguldak.
Passengers had the opportunity to visit various attractions such as vineyards and historical castles in Kalecik, salt caves and museums in Çankırı, and historical mansions in Çerkeş. The highlight of the tour was a visit to Safranbolu, a UNESCO Cultural Heritage City known for its classical Ottoman urban architecture.
During the tour, passengers also visited the first and only Mining Museum in Turkey, where they learned about the history of mining and observed the working conditions of miners in Zonguldak. They also explored the Gökgöl Cave in Zonguldak, known for its millions of years old coral fossils.
The tour allowed passengers to travel through the natural beauty of the forests of Yenice, passing through river banks, tunnels, and bridges. They also had the opportunity to explore the ruins of historical buildings in the Ancient City of Hadrianapolis in Eskipazar.
Passengers shared their positive experiences about the journey, describing it as “a unique experience” filled with unforgettable memories. While some suggested changes to the itinerary and destinations, others appreciated the tour despite its length.
The Karaelmas Express Western Black Sea Touristic Train Tour will officially start on April 12, offering weekly trips on the Ankara-Zonguldak line. Travel agencies will also provide options for different tour packages, expected to increase based on demand.
Overall, the touristic train tours are anticipated to not only boost tourism in the cities along the route but also in neighboring cities, contributing to the overall tourism industry in the region.
