Kastamonu’s Sea Turns Brown Again

Melting Snow Waters from Inebolu District Turn Black Sea Brown
Inebolu district in Turkey recently experienced a phenomenon where melting snow waters from the high parts of the district caused the Inebolu River to flow into the Black Sea, turning its color brown.
After a heavy snowfall two weeks ago, with snow reaching up to 2.5 meters, the warm air started melting the snow, leading to the formation of abdominal waters that then flowed into the streams.
As a result, the turquoise color of the Black Sea in the region where the Inebolu Stream spilled changed to a muddy brown color. The once clear sea became covered with muddy waters on the shores of Inebolu, extending about 1000 meters into the sea.
Images captured by drones show the extent of the color change in the sea, highlighting the impact of melting snow waters on the Black Sea in the region.
This natural event serves as a reminder of the interconnectedness of different ecosystems and how changes in one area, such as melting snow in the mountains, can have visible effects on larger bodies of water like the Black Sea.
