Kazakh Airlines Divert Flights from Iranian Airspace Amid Middle East Tensions

ASTANA – The Civil Aviation Committee of the Kazakh Transport Ministry has recommended domestic airlines to steer clear of Iranian airspace following the recent escalation of tensions in the Middle East on Oct. 2.

According to a statement from the Civil Aviation Committee, Kazakh airlines are advised to avoid Iranian airspace and select alternative routes in light of the current situation. Airlines are also urged to comply with any previous instructions and recommendations for flights in the region.

In response to the committee’s recommendation, Air Astana has decided to reroute its flights to Dubai, bypassing Iranian airspace. This adjustment will result in a longer flight duration for routes from Astana and Almaty to Dubai.

Air Astana’s press service stated that flights to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia will continue as scheduled, but will be reassessed in the event of heightened military activity in the region. The airline is prepared to make further changes as needed to ensure the safety of its flights.

Meanwhile, FlyArystan reported that the current situation in the Middle East has not impacted its international and charter flight schedules, as these routes do not pass through Iranian airspace or other restricted areas. The airline reassured the public that it is closely monitoring the situation and adhering to all official restrictions.

Overall, these measures are being taken to prioritize the safety of passengers and crew amidst the escalating tensions in the Middle East. Airlines in Kazakhstan are working diligently to ensure that their operations remain secure and efficient during this uncertain period.
