Kazakh and Nigerian Presidents Strengthening Cooperation

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu met on the sidelines of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week Summit on Jan. 14. The two leaders discussed the importance of strengthening bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Nigeria, Africa’s most populous country and one of the continent’s largest economies.

During the meeting, Tokayev emphasized Kazakhstan’s commitment to enhancing comprehensive cooperation with Nigeria, while Tinubu expressed his readiness to work together to elevate their relations to a new level. The Presidents also talked about the potential for collaboration in trade and economic, transport and logistics, energy, and agriculture sectors.

Additionally, they exchanged views on current international issues and highlighted the significance of increasing cooperation within multilateral structures. Tokayev extended an invitation to Tinubu to visit Kazakhstan officially, further solidifying the bonds between the two nations.
