Kazakh Boxers Advance to Quarterfinals at 2024 Olympics Qualification Tournament in Italy

Five Kazakhstan boxers have advanced to the quarterfinals in the first World Qualification Tournament in Busto Arsizio, Italy, ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympics. The National Olympic Committee’s press service announced on March 10 that Nurbek Oralbay, Mahmud Sabyrkhan, Aslanbek Shymbergenov, Alua Balkibekova, Aibek Oralbay, and Saken Bibosynov all emerged victorious in their fights and will compete in the 1/4 finals of the tournament.

Kazakhstan’s National Olympic Committee President, Gennady Golovkin, met with the men’s and women’s boxing teams on March 9 to provide guidance and show his support. Golovkin praised the Kazakh boxing school as one of the best in the world and emphasized the importance of continuing its traditions. He assured the boxers and coaches that he is always available to offer support.

The Paris 2024 boxing competition is scheduled to take place from July 27 to August 10 at the Roland Garros Stadium and the North Paris Arena.
