Kazakh Capital to Host International Programming Contest Finals

Astana, Kazakhstan will be the proud host of the 48th ICPC International Collegiate Programming Contest Finals for the first time from Sept. 15-20. This prestigious event will bring together 142 teams from universities around the world who have advanced to the World Finals after competing at regional and national levels.

The opening ceremony of the 2024 ICPC World Finals will take place at Kazakhstan’s Presidential Center on Sept. 16. Kazakhstan will be represented by five teams from the country’s top technical universities, showcasing the country’s growing status as a key IT hub in Central Asia.

President of Competitive Programming Federation, Bagdat Mussin, emphasized the importance of ICPC in promoting the training of young IT specialists and developing the digital economy in Kazakhstan. The competition challenges teams to solve real-world problems, fostering collaboration, creativity, and innovation.

Kazakhstan has already seen success in the ICPC, with Batyr Sardarbekov winning the gold medal in the 2022-2023 finals in Luxor. This year’s event promises to be a display of talent, skill, and dedication to the field of algorithmic programming.
