Kazakh Government Reveals Plan for Achieving Tokayev’s Objectives
Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov and high-ranking officials have reviewed measures to implement the tasks outlined by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in his annual state-of-the-nation address delivered on Sept. 2. During a government meeting on Sept. 3, Bektenov stressed the importance of the President’s address as a strategic guideline for the government and Kazakh society.
Bektenov highlighted the need for structural changes in the economy to achieve the goals set by the President. He emphasized the importance of efficient budget spending and strengthening revenue generation for the national budget. The government will focus on addressing the challenges outlined by the President with dedicated efforts from all levels of government.
First Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar discussed the development of the national economy, including approved projects in the manufacturing industry. He mentioned plans for the automotive industry, gas industry, and transport infrastructure development. The Ministry of National Economy will work on improving budget policy, tax legislation, and investment attractiveness.
The Investment Headquarters has reviewed numerous investment projects, which will be supported by the National Digital Investment Platform. Efforts are underway to improve the investment ecosystem and support the full investment cycle. Regional Investment Headquarters will be established in each region to facilitate investment activities.
Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev focused on water management, highlighting the need for modernization of hydrological posts and the approval of a Comprehensive Plan for the Development of the Water Sector. The plan includes the construction of new reservoirs, reconstruction of hydraulic structures, and improvements to irrigation systems.
