Kazakh Opera Singer Bibigul Tulegenova Celebrates 95th Birthday
Renowned Kazakh opera singer Bibigul Tulegenova recently celebrated her 95th birthday on Dec. 16. Almaty Mayor Yerbolat Dossayev congratulated her on behalf of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, recognizing her significant contributions to the country’s cultural heritage.
“A long and fruitful creative path has brought you to the heights of recognition. You left a rich legacy in the gold fund of our country and raised talented, worthy students. Your enormous work has been recognized with high state awards, honorary titles, and special distinctions, which is recognition of your merits,” Dossayev expressed.
Famous Kazakh singer Dimash Kudaibergen also shared a heartfelt congratulatory message on Instagram, praising Tulegenova for dedicating her life to art and becoming one of the greatest opera singers of the 20th century. He highlighted her deep and expressive voice that has captivated audiences both in Kazakhstan and abroad.
In honor of her milestone birthday, a gala concert will be held on Dec. 21 at the Palace of the Republic in Almaty, showcasing masterpieces of classical and Kazakh music performed by outstanding artists who were inspired by Tulegenova’s work.
Tulegenova expressed her gratitude for the recognition, stating, “Hard work is relentless, no matter what. It is through dedication, effort, and education that we cultivate success. My happiness stems from my culture. Thanks to my voice, I have earned respect in the eyes of my nation. I am truly grateful and happy.”
The Astana Opera House had previously celebrated Tulegenova’s birthday with a grand concert, honoring her legacy and contributions to the music industry. Her influence on future generations of musicians continues to inspire and shape the cultural landscape of Kazakhstan.
