Kazakh President Partners with Leading AI Experts in Abu Dhabi
President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with experts in the field of artificial intelligence during his working visit to Abu Dhabi on Jan. 15. In the meeting, President Tokayev highlighted the importance of AI as a driving force of modern progress and its potential to transform the economy.
He mentioned that Kazakhstan is taking significant steps to create a strong foundation for the advancement of AI, focusing on building an institutional framework, infrastructure, and developing human capital. The President announced the creation of an International Advisory Council on Artificial Intelligence, which will work under his leadership to provide strategic recommendations for national AI policy and enhance international cooperation.
President Tokayev also emphasized the priority of training and supporting highly qualified specialists in AI, mentioning the AlemAI advanced technology center as a hub for implementing innovative solutions and educational programs. He introduced the Al-Sana program for interdisciplinary training in AI to promote the development of human capital in this field.
Furthermore, Kazakhstan aims to actively participate in the global AI ecosystem and encourages cooperation in various areas, including scientific research and ethical standards. The discussion at the event included prominent figures in the field of AI, such as the founder of Polynome Alexander Khanin, Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer of G42 Andrew Jackson, and Professor Debbah Merouane of Khalifa University, among others.
Overall, President Tokayev’s meeting with AI experts underscores Kazakhstan’s commitment to embracing artificial intelligence and leveraging its potential for economic growth and innovation.
