Kazakhstan’s Rescuers Return Home After Assisting Earthquake Victims in Afghanistan
A team of rescuers from Kazakhstan has returned home after successfully providing aid and support to the earthquake-stricken areas of Afghanistan. The team was dispatched by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to help eliminate the consequences of the devastating earthquake.
The humanitarian mission, which included 45 individuals, consisted of rescuers, canine units from the national operational rescue team, doctors, and paramedics from the Ministry of Emergency Situations’ Disaster Medicine Center.
During their time in Afghanistan, the Kazakh rescuers delivered medical care to 83 local residents and aided in the removal of debris from 211 damaged houses. Additionally, they thoroughly examined all 700 sections of destroyed houses in the Naib Rafi village. Tragically, the team also discovered and recovered the body of a deceased child.
Apart from their work in the village, the team also inspected nine tent cities that were severely affected by a dust storm.
Before the rescuers’ departure, Afghan Deputy Minister of Culture and Information Mahajir Farahi expressed his gratitude to the people of Kazakhstan. He acknowledged the invaluable assistance they provided during these difficult times and assured that their efforts would be remembered.
The successful completion of this mission by Kazakhstan’s rescue team highlights the nation’s commitment to international cooperation and humanitarian aid. The team’s dedication and professionalism have undoubtedly made a significant impact on the lives of the earthquake victims in Afghanistan.
